Week 4 of the 2014 IBA Winter season sees three league games on the calendar this weekend. One of those games features expansion-side Kansas City Kryptonite.
The Kryptonite will have a tough task to open their IBA campaign, facing the St. Louis Trotters (2-0) on Saturday. Game time is scheduled for 7 PM at the Mathews-Dickey Boys & Girls Club Gymnasium.
St. Louis is coming off an impressive 118-114 victory last weekend over the 5-time IBA champion Kankakee County Soldiers (1-1). Marlowe Currie (30 pts, 9 reb, 4 assists) led the Trotters attack and was named IBA Player of the Week for his efforts.
In another Saturday clash, the International Racers (0-3) will host the Lansing Capitals (0-1) with both clubs in search of their first win of the season. The Racers opened their winter campaign with a narrow 121-118 loss to Kankakee County. A home-and-home with the Kenosha Ballers followed resulting in a pair of losses.
Sunday features a matchup between two teams with championship aspirations. Kenosha (2-0) will make the 125-mile trek south to Kankakee for the first of four season matchups with the Soldiers. In their opening two games the Ballers have put up huge offensive numbers, scoring 270 total points for veteran coach Tony Moore.
