Soldiers Comeback Stops Racers

Kankakee County Soldiers 121, International Racers 118

The IBA Winter season opener lived up to expectations as the Kankakee County Soldiers and International Racers had a battle to the finish. The game was back-and-forth for the first three stanzas before the Racers opened a 16-point lead.


The Soldiers fought back and erased the lead late in the fourth, behind Anthony Kyle (20 points) and Billy Rush (17 points).

Fred Gardner set the tone early for the Soldiers as he was a force on the offensive boards with 9 rebounds. Gardner finished with team-high of 22 points and 10 rebounds.

The Racers were led by Jimmie Miles, who finished with 28 points.
